March Catchup

March has flown by in a blink of an eye.

I had quite a busy month.  I was invited to test some patterns for an Instagram friend.  They are soon to be released quilt patterns so I can show some sneak peaks.

Fabric selection for the first test pattern called Flower Basket.  These patterns are by Keera of live love sew is her website.  The fabric I used is Vintage Picnic by Bonnie and Camille.

Favourite block.

The next pattern is called Homeward Bound.

The components of the block.

Sewing the last row together.

Keera has four gorgeous patterns being released.  The first one has been released and the other three over the next few weeks.  It was such fun being able to pattern test.

I also started some new projects.

Picnic pattern by Cotton Way.

Playful also by Cotton Way.

The Moda Alphabet pattern.  This one will be for my littlest nephew.

I bound my Round and Round quilt.

Quilted, selected binding and bound my Bonnie and Camille Log Cabin swap quilt.

Started quilting my Aqua log cabin quilt and selected binding.

Let's hope April is as much fun.

Until next time happy sewing.

February Catchup

This is what I got up to in February.

My Aqua log cabin is now a top.

I picked up my Round and Round quilt from the quilters but it has been too hot to bind so I am keeping that for when it is cooler.

I pulled out a UFO.

Star Blossoms by Cottonway using Marmalade.  I still have a few more blocks to go but these are quite fiddly.

Played with some Christmas fabric.

Fabric is Winterberry and the pattern is Snow Blossoms by Lella Boutique.  I need to sew all the blocks together.

I dove into my red scraps and made a Swiss quilt pattern by Thimble Blossoms.

Did more scrap sewing.  This pattern is from a book called Scraps Inc and the pattern is Delightful and is by Camille Roskelly.

New fabric was purchased.

A new quilt was started Vintage Baskets by Cotton Way fabric is Vintage Picnic by Bonnie and Camille.

Sewed with some Instagram friends a Mini Clambake using Little Ruby by Bonnie and Camille pattern by Thimble Blossoms.

I wonder what March will bring hopefully some cooler weather.

Until next time happy. Sewing.

January Catchup

I know this is a little late and I know that my blog is a bit neglected but finding time to blog is a bit difficult.  You can find me on Instagram most days which I find easier and less time consuming than blog posts.  I am going to try to do a monthly catch up on the blog as I know not everyone is on Instagram.  There never seems enough time to do everything and the blog will be the thing that suffers.  With working full time in a busy job, running a house and doing some renovations and making time for sewing I just can't find the time to blog as often.  I really want to get some things finished or at least as quilt tops especially since there is more gorgeous fabrics coming out this year.

Like Bonnie and Camille's Little Ruby which is a remake of Ruby but all the prints are in miniature.  I have been lucky enough to get some early release precuts.

I also had holidays in January so I managed to get quite a bit done in between spending time with family visiting from Darwin.

Fireworks in Happy Go Lucky by Camille Roskelley

Sweet Talk in Hello Darling by Cotton Way

Kaleidoscope in Gooseberry by Lella Boutique

Marmalade in Marmalade by Camille Roskelly

Puddle Jumping in April Showers by Camille Roskelley

Can you believe I had all these quilt tops that just needed borders so I spent a day adding borders to them all.  Now thy will have to wait to be quilted.

This one is now all finished Aztec by Live Love Sew in Praire fabric.

The Simple Life by Camille Roskelley in Canyon by Kate Spain on and that is my littlest niece Mikayla poking around the corner I put my nephews to work holding up quilts whilst they were visiting.

Painted Ladies by Figtree & Co.  I had this kit sitting waiting to be done for quite some time.

Bonnie and Camille log cabin swap quilt.  I swapped blocks on Instagram last year I just love this one knowing I have blocks from my Instagram friends.

This is the Christmas present I got for myself.  I will do an update on this later in the month.

Until next time happy stitching.

Santa Sack Swap

I participated in Cheryll's Santa Sack Swap again this year.  My partner was Kaye from Kitten Stitching.

These are all the lovely gifts I received.

A teddy stocking isn't it so cute.  I just adore teddies.

A beautiful pillow.  Kaye does beautiful cross stitching.

This photo is a bit deceptive as this is a little pillow much smaller than the other one.

And this pin cushion isn't it adorable.

And this beautiful framed toy shop cross stitch with beading.

A tea bag holder.

Some extra goodies.

Thanks Kaye I just love my gifts and a big thank you to Cheryll from Gone Stitching for organising this great swap.

OPAM November

Wow it is the 1st of December and I just can't believe where the time has gone.  I had 14 finishes this month including some big quilts that I quilted myself and had been tops for some time.

I finished all my swap sewing so I had some selfish sewing time.

I forgot to take a photo of these finished but they have gone off to new homes. I so need to make a Snowman for myself as I love the pattern I have made it twice both for swap gifts.

A Hazel cushion that is on the way to Germany.

My Thimble Blossoms Sampler all fabric was from my stash including the backing.

My Christmas Wreaths.

This is the stack of quilts I finished.  I quilted them all myself.

Christmas in the Cabin pattern by Janelle Wind.

Framed from Simply Retro book by Camille Roskelley.

Wild Thing also by Camille.

Shine by Sherri McConnell.

Apologies for the bad photos I hadn't had a chance to take photos over the weekend and it is a bit dark already here tonight.

Until next time happy sewing.
